1xBet signs Conor McGregor

Online sportsbook 1xBet has announced Conor McGregor as its new Global Brand Ambassador ahead of the Irish mixed martial artist’s return to the UFC.

McGregor has joined the betting operator before his headline clash with Max Holloway at UFC 329 on Saturday, July 11th.

"We’re proud to welcome UFC legend Conor McGregor as 1xBet Global Brand Ambassador,", said a 1xBet spokesperson.

"As one of the greatest icons in combat sports prepares for his long-awaited comeback, we’re excited to begin this new chapter together."

1xBet is available in countries worldwide, with the 1xBet promo code NEWBONUS available to new players.

The partnership gives the online betting site a high-profile combat sports figure at a time when attention is building around McGregor’s comeback.

The former two-weight UFC champion has not fought in the promotion since his defeat to Dustin Poirier in 2021, when he suffered a serious leg injury.

The agreement has been announced ahead of one of the most closely watched UFC events of the year, with McGregor’s return likely to draw major interest from MMA fans and betting audiences alike.

McGregor was at the peak of his powers in the summer of 2017, when he crossed over into boxing for a blockbuster fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. Since then, however, he has struggled to recapture the form and profile that made him one of the biggest names in combat sports.

He was beaten by bitter rival Khabib Nurmagomedov on his UFC return in late 2018, before bouncing back in early 2020 with a 40-second stoppage win over Donald Cerrone.

That remains McGregor’s most recent victory. He then suffered back-to-back defeats to Poirier in 2021, with the second fight ending in the first round after the Irishman sustained a broken leg.
